About Nuska
Nuska turns your Markdown into a page you can share. Write a note, paste some code, or explain an idea with a diagram. You don't need an account.
Write, preview, publish
Write in the Text tab and use Preview to check the formatting. When you publish, you get a link to share and an edit key to keep. You'll need that key if you want to change or delete the paste later.
Who can read a paste?
Anyone with the link can read it. Nuska doesn't list pastes in a public directory and asks search engines not to index them. That doesn't make them private. Someone can guess a title-based or custom URL, share your link, or copy the text.
There's no password protection or end-to-end encryption. Don't publish passwords, personal information, or anything else you need to keep private.
Keep your edit key
The edit key lets you update or delete the paste from any browser. We show it after publishing and store only a hash on the server. We can't recover or reset it if you lose it.
Save it in a password manager, or choose Save the edit key in this browser on the publish screen. Pastes you save that way appear in My pastes.
Anyone using the same browser profile can access saved keys. Clearing site data removes them, and they don't sync to other devices. Keep a separate copy if you want to keep edit access.
Supported formatting
- Headings with section links, bold and italic text, strikethrough, quotes, and lists
- Tables, read-only task checkboxes, automatic links, and footnotes
- Code blocks with syntax highlighting and a copy button
- Inline and display math with KaTeX
- Mermaid diagrams, including flowcharts, sequence diagrams, and entity relationships
- Images hosted at HTTPS URLs
The How tab in the editor covers the syntax, supported code languages, diagram controls, and publishing options.
Nuska doesn't render raw HTML, scripts, iframes, or custom styles. Links with unsafe addresses won't open. Images need HTTPS; other image addresses show the alt text instead.
Markdown example
This sample uses the same renderer as published pastes. Try copying the code or opening the diagram source.
Markdown sample
You can use bold, italic, and strikethrough in a paragraph, or mark a short snippet as inline code. Each heading gets a section link.
Put quoted text in a blockquote.
Indent another quote inside it. Formatting like italics still works here.
Lists
- A bullet item
- A nested item
- The first numbered item
- The next item
- A completed task
- A task still to do
Task boxes are read-only. Change the Markdown source to check or uncheck them.
Links, images, and footnotes
Example link opens in a new tab. A full URL such as https://example.com becomes a link too. Add a footnote1 when a detail belongs at the bottom of the page.
This is an image hosted at an HTTPS address:

Tables
The columns below use left, center, and right alignment.
| Left | Center | Right |
|---|---|---|
| Text | code |
123 |
| Bold | Italic | 456 |
Math
Inline math, such as , fits within a sentence. Put an equation on its own lines for display math:
Code
Use the copy button to copy this Python snippet. Nuska displays the code without running it.
def hello(name):
return f"Hi, {name}"
Diagrams
This flowchart comes from a Mermaid code block. Open Diagram source below it to see the syntax.

Three hyphens on a separate line add a horizontal rule, like the one above.

Follow the return link to go back to the footnote marker. ↩
Drafts stay in your browser
The editor saves drafts in this browser as you type. When you return, a new-paste draft restores automatically. If an edit draft differs from the published text, you can restore or discard it.
Drafts don't sync between devices. Browser storage can be blocked, fill up, or be cleared, so keep another copy of anything important. Preview sends your text to the server to render it, but doesn't publish it or save it as a paste.
URLs, limits, and expiry
Leave the custom URL blank to generate one from your title or first Markdown heading. If that name is taken, Nuska tries a date-and-time suffix, then a random URL. If you enter a custom URL that's already taken, you'll need to choose another. A paste's URL stays the same after publishing.
- Each paste can contain up to 512 KiB of Markdown. Each Mermaid diagram can contain up to 50 KiB of source.
- Choose no expiry, or set a paste to expire after 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days, or 30 days.
- Expired pastes stop being readable or editable. Changing an active paste's expiry starts the selected period from when you save.
- Deleting a paste is permanent. Deletion and expiry can't remove copies someone has already made.
What Nuska stores
A published paste includes its URL name, title, Markdown text, creation and update times, optional expiry, and an edit-key hash. Nuska doesn't require an account or add reader analytics or view counters.
To limit repeated requests, the server uses hashed identifiers derived from request IP addresses, request counts, and time windows. Linked websites and image hosts have their own data policies. An image host can receive your IP address when your browser loads its image, even though Nuska doesn't send the page address as a referrer.
